CMPAC

Complimentary Medicine Practitioner Associations Council (CMPAC)

The establishment of CMPAC is an outcome of a funding agreement between the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing and ANTA, relating to the continuance of GST-free status for practitioners of Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Traditional Chinese Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Ayurvedic Medicine beyond June 2003.

CMPAC was established in consultation with the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for the consideration of matters of joint or common concern or interest to the various complementary medicine professional associations in Australia.

As part of the funding agreements with the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing, CMPAC maintains a register of practitioners and issues certificates of CMPAC registration to practitioners that are members of recognised professional associations in the modalities of Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Traditional Chinese Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Ayurvedic Medicine.

ANTA Members are entitled at no additional cost to be registered with CMPAC and to receive a CMPAC certificate of registration. Annual CMPAC practitioner registration will automatically occur upon renewal of ANTA Membership.
