  We offer 2 qualifications The Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies ( HLT 50207) and the Advanced Diploma of Acupuncture and Oriental Therapies. As the Advanced Diploma includes all units of training in the HLT50207 course, graduates receive both qualifications. Our study program is offered in units of training offered in one week blocks at the college. All our acupuncture graduates have gone on to be successful practitioners. We also offer Equine Acupuncture and Shiatsu training that that qualifies graduates to obtain insurance from either OAMPS or Insurance House. All class sizes are small which guarantees a high degree of personal attention. We also offer week end retreats which include yoga, shiatsu, tai chi macro biotic cooking meditation.

  This full time 4-year course equips you to enter a career as a qualified health professional. The course focuses on Traditional Chinese medical theory and therapies including acupuncture, Chinese massage (Tuina), and herbal medicine. Students also benefit from a solid foundation in western bioscience, gaining a firm understanding of the role traditional Chinese medicine plays as a complementary health care system. Important to the learning environment of this course is the working clinics where students gain first hand practical experience treating patients under the guidance of qualified health professionals. The course can be combined with a Bachelor of International Studies (China Major).

  The four-year degree was the first degree in naturopathy to be accredited by the Victorian government and represents a benchmark in naturopathic training in Victoria. It is Austudy-approved and has been running since 1988. The course is offered both full-time and part-time and is broadly-based encompassing relevant biological sciences, social sciences, research studies and the major naturopathic modalities of herbal medicine, clinical nutrition and homoeopathy in a holistic clinical framework.

  In 1992, Victoria University became the first government funded university in the Western world to offer a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Medicine. Our Chinese medicine program is based on strong traditional and contemporary philosophical foundations. It draws upon the Oriental traditions of Daoism and Buddhism as well as such contemporary disciplines as Holism, Systems Theory and Consciousness Studies. Those who choose to study Chinese medicine at Victoria University will study Chinese medicine as a “Chinese art/science” that includes studies in meditation, qi gong and other health enhancing practices, presented from a traditional and holistic perspective.

  The Australian Institute of Holistic Medicine is located in a beautiful, tranquil bush setting about 20 minute’s drive from Perth city and Fremantle. The Institute is dedicated to providing the maximum exposure to the fundamentals of Natural Therapies and encouraging the students to incorporate all that they learn in to their lives and to them reaps the benefits. The courses offered by the Institute are not only informational but are considered to be transformational.
