
The Trigger Point Dry Needling course is founded on Dommerholt’s
evidence and clinical-based approach. It is a full 6-week course, with 2
days required on-campus per week. The course is a full subject taken
from Q Academy’s 22316VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy course, giving
you a complete unit of competency.
Please note that this is an
advanced course with extensive training. You will be required to
demonstrate your competency by performing treatments in our supervised
Student Clinic. This course meets requirements set by Industry
Associations as well as Insurance providers.
Following The
Australian Society of Acupuncture Physiotherapists Guidelines for Safe
Acupuncture and Dry Needling Practice, you will learn this increasingly
popular treatment option for medical professionals used to assist their
clients return to optimal function. You will demonstrate safe practices,
and implement and monitor infection control policy and procedures. You
will also learn all the skills of non-injection needling to stimulate
specific soft tissues for therapeutic effect.
In the hands of a
skilled practitioner, dry needling requires less energy expenditure for
the practitioner, while simultaneously offering equal or better results
for the client than manual techniques alone. Included in the course fee
will be the relevant text book as reference material, as well as the
needles, kidney dish and bin for sharp materials disposal which is
necessary for practice and training.
