Establishment of NATHUA

Dear Members,

We’re writing to share an important update for ANTA members in announcing the establishment of the Naturopathy & Western Herbal Medicine United Associations (NATHUA).

NATHUA brings together ANPA, ANTA, CMA and NHAA as leading professional associations to deliver a coordinated, unified voice for Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine in Australia – a collective voice that seeks to strengthen patient safety, professional competencies and educational standards through aligned standards and joint action.

This initiative has been established in response to a clear and shared commitment among the participating professional associations – to define, uphold and protect high professional competency and educational standards, and ensuring a strong and sustainable future for our collective members and their professions.

NATHUA will provide a credible and authoritative point of engagement with government, educators and key stakeholders, while also supporting the continued growth, professionalism and resilience of the sector.

To view the full statement, please log in to your ANTA Member Portal and navigate to the Forms, Policies & Guidelines tab within the Member Centre.

ANTA will keep members informed as this work progresses throughout 2026, including key developments that support your professional standing and the long-term integrity of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine in Australia.

NATHUA invites other Australian associations and aligned organisations to join us in shaping a stronger, more unified future for the profession in 2026 and beyond.

Should you have any questions about NATHUA or the information in the Statement, please reach out at
