Manual Therapy & the Predictive Brain: Rethinking Pain Modulation in Manual Therapy
Bodine is an experienced Soft Tissue Therapist and the Director of Education at Advanced Clinical Education (ACE). He holds a master’s degree in Educational Neuroscience, an Advanced Diploma in Health Science (Soft Tissue Therapy), and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Neuroscience. As a senior educator at ACE, Bodine plays a key role in the development and delivery of postgraduate professional development courses for manual therapists and healthcare professionals across Australia and New Zealand.
With over a decade of experience, Bodine has held various leadership roles, including course coordinator and lecturer at the Australasian College of Massage and Myotherapy, and has worked extensively with local, state, and national level sport. His private practice focuses on hip, lumbar spine, and neurological pain conditions.

Dr Kate Levett is an epidemiologist, educator and maternal health research specialist, focusing on childbirth education practices. She is a Senior Research Fellow, at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Sydney School of Medicine, and an adjunct Fellow at the NICM Health Research Institute at Western Sydney University and an Honorary Fellow at the Collaboration for Midwifery, Child and Family Health, at the University of Technology Sydney. She has received a NSW Govt Ministerial appointment to the Chinese Medicine Council of NSW, and has over 20 years’ experience in clinical trials, public health research and epidemiology, education and a clinical practice.
She is involved with international collaborative research networks in maternal health, complementary therapies, and obstetrical acupuncture with a focus on promoting models for integration of care. She is a mentor in the MAMPS Program (Maternity Acupuncture Mentoring and Peer Support), a research advisor for the New Zealand School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a board member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture Association (OBAA) Canada, and is the Australian Ambassador for the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR), and co-lead for the SAR Women’s Health SIG. She is a member of the Science of Physiological Birth Cluster at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and Maternal Infant Health Canada (MIHCan), where she collaborates in the delivery of international programs for humanised birth care using Traditional Chinese Medicine skills.

He continued to further his training in Sôtai & Shiatsu from Kikuko Zutrau Miyazaki until finally studying in Japan to be trained by some of the greatest teachers of Japan.

A long-time contributor to the landmark textbook Clinical Sports Medicine by Drs Brukner and Khan—featured in every edition through to the current 6th He is the co-founder of the Australasian College of Soft Tissue Therapy and has led Soft Tissue Therapy departments at top institutions, including: The Sports Medicine Centres of Victoria, Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre Melbourne, and the Victorian Institute of Sport.
Rob also served as Head of Soft Tissue Therapy for the Australian Olympic Teams at Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, the Australian Commonwealth Games Team in Kuala Lumpur 1998.

Jean-Paul Staats has practiced Acupuncture and Chinese medicine for 33 years in private practice in Australia and in Europe. He is Australian trained with postgraduate studies from hospitals in Beijing, Nanjing and Nanning in China, in Japan, as well as the USA and UK.
He has lectured at the Australian College of Natural Medicine (now Endeavour College) for 6 years and has since also been appointed Australian branch director of the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine (ICEAM) after completion of a Diplomat of Canonical Chinese Medicine Training and further studies towards a clinical fellowship.
