The Australian Natural Therapy Association is the largest association of traditional, complementary, and natural therapy practitioners in Australia. Our strict membership criteria ensures that every one of our members are qualified in their field, maintain high professional standards, and abide by a rigorous Code of Practice, with your health as their primary concern.
If you’re passionate about health, and want to learn about the power of treating the complete person—physically, psychologically, and spiritually—you may thrive as a natural therapist. Our bodies are a complex machine of interconnected parts, and when you consider a person’s health from a holistic perspective, great things can be achieved.
Whether through acupuncture, myotherapy, naturopathy, remedial massage or another natural therapy, you can help to improve people’s health dramatically, and submerge yourself in an incredibly rewarding career.
There’s natural therapy career pathways to suit almost everybody. At ANTA, we recognise professionals from the following traditional, complementary, and natural therapy modalities:
To become an ANTA member and reap the extensive benefits, you will need to study a course that is recognised by us. You can search for natural courses by modality and state on our recognised courses page.
If you’re already a qualified natural therapist, and are thinking of expanding your skill set and customer base, becoming accredited in a second natural therapy is a great way to do so. You may be a qualified nutritionist who wants to incorporate Western herbal medicine into your practice, to widen your scope of knowledge and offer additional health solutions to your patients. Or you may be a remedial massage therapist who wants to better understand the musculoskeletal system underlying the soft tissue, and are pursuing a qualification in myotherapy as a result.
Whatever your second natural therapy may be, if you’d like to become or remain an accredited member of ANTA, be sure to select a course that is recognised by us. Because our association covers a wide range of natural therapy modalities, each represented by a specialist board member (Branch Chair), you can have the benefit of belonging to a single association, with support from board members who are practitioners with the same skillset or higher.
If you are an ANTA member who has recently become qualified in a second modality, and want to become accredited by us, you can upload your accreditation in the Additional Accreditation page from the Member Centre. There’s a one-off cost of $33, with no additional changes to your membership cost (in the vast majority of cases).
Continuing professional education (CPE) and development is critical to keeping your skills current, and to ensure you provide the best possible healthcare to patients. It also helps with communication and networking, and to enhance your professional standing in the natural therapy community.
To remain an ANTA member, you must complete 20 hours of CPE per year, with at least 50% of these hours being related to your accredited modality. We ask that you provide proof before the end of each year.
To determine your eligibility for ANTA membership and accreditation, or to help you select the right natural therapy course, check out our recognised courses page. You can search for courses by modality and state.
